Welcome our new Trustee, Chris Hogg

We’re pleased to announce, Chris Hogg, as joined our Trustee board. Read on to get to know Chris…

Q: How long have you been in the industry (financial / pensions)?

It’s been 25 years – I’m a genuine veteran now. I spent the last decade as CEO of two large UK pension schemes – the Royal Mail and more recently National Grid - with responsibility for member outcomes ranging from investments through to admin and communications.

Q: How long have you been a Trustee of the SEI Master Trust?

I joined the Trustee Board in June 2025.

Q: What do you do when you’re not being a Trustee?

I also have an executive role with an exciting AI tech start-up.

Q: What do you think is the most important thing that members need to do for their retirement?

Simply try and contribute as much money as possible to build up their pension pot. Oh, and make sure they are in a great scheme… like the SEI Master Trust.

Q: What do you think the Pension Industry needs to do to encourage more people to save for their future?

Provide more effective guidance to members and some great technology to support them.

Q: When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

At age 5 - a Joiner. At age 10 - a Pro Golfer. At age 15 – an Actuary!

Q: What have you recently watched on TV which you really enjoyed.

Mary Queen of Scots. Stylish movie about a fascinating and brutal period of Scottish history.

Q: Where’s your favourite place on Earth?

The beach at Bamburgh in Northumberland. At any time of year and in any weather it’s a breathtaking scene, an expansive beach with a castle on top of large dunes in the background. I spent my childhood holidays there and it remains a family meetup location to this day.

Q: Which 3 (famous) guests (alive or dead) would you invite to dinner?

Winston Churchill; Noel Gallagher; Billy Connolly
